The well-known Alexander Sik Scoutpark is located about an hour and a half drive South-East of Buffalo in Western New York, close to the Southern Tier Highway. Spread over 167 acres of plantation pine forests, old growth forests and open-fields it clearly depicts the character of our scout camp.
This is our home, home of Hungarian scouts…not merely a camp but the leadership training hub of the Hungarian Scout Association in Exteris.
The serene wish of the Scout Association, since its humble beginnings, finally in 1964 came true and a formal, permanent leadership training center was established. From that Spring we could call it our own… The park became the heart and soul of leadership training. Today it continues this process while it gives ample space for large commemorative type gatherings.
Planning and executing camps with all its logistics and challenges became much easier. Simply, over time it became more effective for complete training at all levels.
Every year the camp opens in May (Memorial Day) with a traditional Competition Camp, followed by the Hungarian Language School Camp. Scout troops conduct their annual camps in the summer followed by the Leadership Training camp. In the Fall, the camp closes with a cultural theme camp. It is also the venue for all our Jubilee and Commemorative camps.
More and more scouts are coming from North America, Canada, Australia, Europe and South-America to be trained in leadership or to celebrate major scout events
